Councillor and group leader
Jos Gorren
Jos has been a member of the Maastricht city council for SAB since March 2026. He received 343 preference votes at the election and leads the group. His way of working is the whole party’s way of working: listen and help first, then sort it in the council.
“Politics does not start in the town hall. Politics starts at the front door, in the street and in the community centre.”

“We stand for fair housing in Maastricht. No priority for refugees with a residence permit — everyone waits their turn. Everyone deserves a chance at a home. Our children, our students and our elderly.”

“Our older residents took care of us. Now it is our turn to care for them. Good housing, free public transport, and care close to home. That is what SAB is for.”

“Every year thousands of tourists visit our city. At the weekend it is packed, while midweek there is still room. We stand for a fair spread, a fair parking policy, and treating the people who come here well. Maastricht is worth it.”

“Maastricht is your city. Make your voice heard. Together we make it possible for everyone to take part.”

“When I walk through Maastricht, I feel proud. But there are also places where it could be better. And that is what I will keep working for, for you.”
