The Sociaal Actieve Burgerpartij is putting Imgriet Habets forward as citizen councillor for the Economy and Culture portfolio. With that she returns to council work in Maastricht.

At the city council elections in March 2026, Habets received 162 preference votes. The group is now proposing her as citizen councillor. The city council will decide on the appointment at its next meeting.

A citizen councillor is not a councillor, but does take part in the council committees. That allows the group to follow more topics properly. Habets focuses on small local businesses, culture and community life.

I want businesses and community groups to feel heard in the town hall.

With Habets on board, SAB continues to build a broader group with more than one face.
